Adam Cesare is an American writer of horror novels and short stories, and one of the more interesting voices working the genre’s modern seam. He studied English and film at Boston University, and the double training shows: this is horror steeped in cinema, built with a screenwriter’s sense of image and momentum.

The breakthrough recognition came in 2020, when his novel Clown in a Cornfield won the Bram Stoker Award for superior achievement in a young adult novel – the horror field’s most recognisable honour. It marked Cesare out as a writer who could deliver proper scares to younger readers without filing down the teeth.
