Who is Carol Klein?

Carol Klein (born 24 June 1945) is an English gardening expert who doubles as a television presenter and newspaper columnist – the classic profile of someone who knows her subject deeply and can also make the rest of us care about it. Warm, practical and firmly of the mud-under-the-fingernails school, she has become one of the familiar voices of British horticulture.

The institutional seal arrived in July 2023, when the Royal Horticultural Society named her its Iconic Horticultural Hero for that year – formal confirmation of a status her viewers and readers had long taken for granted.
