Who is Jenny Han?

Jenny Han, born in 1980, is an American author who has managed what very few novelists do: keeping creative control of her own stories as they crossed into film and television. She wrote The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy and then adapted it herself for Prime Video – as screenwriter, executive producer and showrunner – having already seen her To All the Boys trilogy become a Netflix film series.

That double career is the telling detail. Most authors wave their books off at the studio gates; Han walks in with them and runs the production. It speaks to stories with obvious screen appeal – proven twice, on two different platforms – and to an author the industry trusts with far more than the source material.
