Who is Joanna Page?

Joanna Page, born in 1977, is a Welsh actress and presenter best known for playing Stacey Shipman in Gavin and Stacey – a role that made her one of the most warmly regarded faces on British television. Her screen career reaches back further: she played Dora Spenlow in the 1999 adaptation of David Copperfield and appeared as Just Judy in the 2003 romantic comedy Love Actually.

Presenting has become a strong second string. She co-presented the BBC One consumer series Shop Well for Less with Melanie Sykes, and in 2023 she joined Loose Women as a regular panellist – confirming her, in short, as a fixture of the British living room.

Lush!, the Joanna Page title in our catalogue, is as Welsh an exclamation as a title can be, and it points straight at the warmth that made her name. Performers tend to make natural audiobook company – the voice is the instrument they have trained longest – and Page’s is one UK listeners already know and like, from Stacey Shipman to the Loose Women desk.

Fans of Gavin and Stacey will come for the familiarity; what they get is Page in her own right rather than in character. As a listen, Lush! trades in what her television career has always traded in: warmth, brightness and extremely good company.
