Kate Humble, born in 1968, is a British television presenter and narrator, best known for wildlife and science programmes, mainly for the BBC. Her environmental commitments run deeper than presenting: she served as president of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds from 2009 to 2013, and she is an ambassador for Living Streets, the UK walking charity.
That CV sketches a consistent character – someone whose working life has been spent outdoors, explaining the natural world to a mainstream audience, and whose enthusiasms for birds, wildlife and walking are commitments rather than costume. It is a rarer combination than television tends to produce.
