Neville Goddard (1905 to 1972) was a Barbadian writer, speaker and mystic, and a figure of the New Thought movement. He grew up in Barbados before moving to the United States as a young adult, and it was there that he made his name, teaching self-help methods built on meditation, self-hypnosis and manifestation.
He was prolific across page and platform alike, producing fourteen books and delivering more than three hundred lectures. That balance tells you something about the man: this was a teacher who worked through the spoken word at least as much as the written one, returning again and again to the workings of mind, belief and inner practice.
