I Am Ozzy and Last Rites: memoir with the comedy and the wreckage left in

Who is Ozzy Osbourne?

A memoir read by its own author is a different object from one handed to a professional. I Am Ozzy comes with Ozzy Osbourne’s own voice attached, and that changes the terms entirely: the timing, the asides, the moments where the telling is funnier than the events had any right to be.

It explains why the comedy and humour shelf sits beside biography here. The register is confessional, unsparing and very funny, often within the same paragraph. Last Rites, filed with arts and entertainment, carries the later account and is read instead by Ian Danter.

The pairing makes an obvious sequence. Take I Am Ozzy first, at over fourteen hours in the author’s own delivery, then move to Last Rites at around ten. The first is the life told loud; the second is the reckoning that follows.

Both are scheduled arrivals with us rather than titles already on the shelf, so this page is the one to watch for them. What is currently listed appears below.
