Who is Shannon Mae?

Paradise Falls sounds idyllic until you learn what lives there. Hellhounds of Paradise Falls is the series banner over Shannon Mae’s work with us, and the collision in that name, small-town cosiness set against something with teeth, is exactly the trick paranormal romance has always run on.

The writing sits on our LGBTQ+ and romance shelves, which places it squarely in the queer paranormal tradition: fated bonds, a supernatural community with rules of its own, and a central relationship that has to earn its trust the hard way. The title says as much out loud.

Anything further about the author is not ours to supply, so we stay with the fiction.

How to Trust a Hellhound is the entry available here, running seven and a half hours with Alexander Cendese at the microphone. That length is a deliberate pleasure in this genre: long enough for a proper arc, short enough to finish across a weekend.

It is recent and the review count is still tiny, so we would not lean on the average yet. Judge it instead on what it offers, a self-contained romance set inside a wider supernatural world, which makes it a perfectly sound way to test whether Paradise Falls is your sort of town.
