About this Audiobook

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Emma Slate comes the second book in the Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club series.

I was having a slow night in the ER.

Until a scruffy, skirt-chasing Tarnished Angels biker needed emergency surgery. Despite fighting through his pain, Boxer’s eyes track me.

He sees past my aloof exterior and cuts into the heart of me.

I’ve never wanted a man like I want Boxer.

Beneath the lighthearted facade is a man who charges into danger to protect the innocent.

And when his brutal world bleeds into mine, I become collateral damage. A playboy can’t rescue me.

But a Tarnished Angel can.

Clara’s Verdict

Crash & Carnage is the second book in Emma Slate’s Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club series, and it does exactly what a sequel in this genre needs to do: it deepens the world, raises the emotional stakes, and delivers a romantic lead who feels distinct from his predecessor. Slate is a Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, and it shows in the craft. This isn’t a mechanical tropes-assembly exercise – there’s genuine character work here alongside the expected heat. Boxer, first glimpsed in Wreck & Ruin, is the kind of fictional love interest readers fall for hard, and Slate gives him a worthy partner in Linden. At just under twelve hours, this is a satisfying, eventful listen.

About the Audiobook

Dr Linden Ward is having a slow night in the ER when a Tarnished Angels biker arrives in urgent need of surgery. Boxer is charming, irreverent, and clearly accustomed to getting what he wants – but beneath the performative lightness is something more substantial. As Linden and Boxer are drawn together, the MC world bleeds into her carefully ordered life, and what begins as attraction becomes something considerably more dangerous.

Slate works the opposites-attract and doctor-meets-patient tropes with confidence, but the novel’s real strength is in its character development. Both Linden and Boxer carry significant emotional baggage, and the process of each learning to trust the other is handled with more care than the genre often affords. The world-building around the Tarnished Angels club is consistent and grounded – Slate has clearly thought about the internal logic of MC life beyond the surface aesthetics. There are genuine plot twists in the second half, and the emotional climax earns its impact through the groundwork laid earlier. Spice is present but the story doesn’t sacrifice coherence for heat.

This is Book 2 in the Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club series. Reading Wreck & Ruin first is recommended but not strictly required.

The Narration

Gregory Salinas narrates the full production. His performance is assured and well-paced, handling the tonal range required – from lighthearted banter to emotional intensity – without overcooking any of it. Linden’s perspective comes through clearly, and Salinas differentiates the supporting cast effectively. At 11 hours and 44 minutes, the listen never drags.

What Readers Say

UK listeners have been enthusiastic. One reviewer gave five stars and noted immediately loving the series from the first book, singling out Boxer’s charm and the Linden pairing as a highlight: “I’ve been looking for a good MC romance and I’ve found it.” Another praised the plotting – “this had me gasping out loud” – and described the twists and turns as genuinely surprising. A third was moved enough to cry in public, describing Slate’s blend of “MC smut and storytelling” as something that balances heat with genuine emotional depth. Crash & Carnage holds a rating of 4.6 stars from its early reviewers, with consistent five-star responses dominating.

Who Should Listen?

This is aimed squarely at readers who love MC romance, enemies-to-lovers dynamics, and protagonists with complicated pasts finding unexpected connection. The doctor-biker pairing gives the story an additional professional-world framing that distinguishes it from more straightforward club romances. If you’ve enjoyed works by Joanna Wylde, K.A. Tucker, or Lora Leigh, Crash & Carnage deserves a place in your queue. Available on Audible UK and other major platforms. Listen to Crash & Carnage on Audible UK and fall for Boxer all over again.
