Eddie Robson, born in 1978, is a British writer with one of those enviably varied CVs: books, comics, short stories, television, theatre, and a stint as a freelance journalist for science fiction magazines. Based in Lancaster, he is best known for two things – the sitcom Welcome to Our Village, Please Invade Carefully, and his extensive work on spin-offs from the BBC’s Doctor Who.
That pairing tells you plenty. Robson is a genre writer with a comedian’s instincts, or possibly a comedy writer with a genre obsessive’s knowledge; either way, the two halves feed each other constantly, and the result is a very British sort of career.
