Ian Dunt (born 1982) is a British political journalist, author and broadcaster, and one of the sharpest explainers of how this country is actually governed. He writes as a columnist for The i Paper, having spent many years as editor of politics.co.uk, and he is a familiar voice in political audio: formerly a host on the Remainiacs podcast, now co-host of Origin Story alongside Dorian Lynskey, with regular contributions to Late Night Live on ABC Radio National.
Dunt’s beat is the machinery of British politics – not the daily soap opera of who is up and who is down, but the systems grinding away underneath. It is precisely that focus, delivered with unusual clarity and no small amount of exasperation, that has earned him his audience.
