Who is Jacob Morgan?

Employee experience is a phrase that can mean everything or nothing, and Jacob Morgan has chosen to pin it down with a number. Eight laws is a structural promise: not reflections, not observations, but a framework the reader is expected to be able to repeat afterwards.

The book sits on our business and careers shelf, in the territory where management writing meets organisational culture. It is a crowded field, and the titles that last tend to be those that hand a manager something to do on Monday rather than something to feel on Sunday.

Six and a half hours is a sensible length for that ambition. Long enough to build the case, short enough to avoid becoming a reference nobody opens twice.

Rick Barr narrates, and the running time divides neatly into a working week of journeys. Business material of this kind survives the commute better than most, largely because it was written to be applied there in the first place.

It is new with us, and the ratings so far come from too few listeners to mean anything at all. Judge it on the framework rather than on the score, at least for now.
