Tracy Borman is an English historian and author, born in 1972 in Scothern, Lincolnshire. She made her name with Elizabeth’s Women, a portrait gallery of the powerful women who shaped and influenced Queen Elizabeth I – a book that announced her particular gift for coming at familiar history from an unfamiliar angle.

Her standing has been formally recognised too: in 2022 she was appointed Chancellor of Lincoln Bishop University, formerly Bishop Grosseteste University, in her home county.
