Clara’s Verdict

Grant Cardone is a polarising figure, and I will not pretend otherwise. His brand of success philosophy – loud, maximalist, built on the premise that most people are simply not trying hard enough – is not to every taste, and the rhetorical approach in The 10X Mentor is consistent with his other work. If you find the 10X methodology bracing and motivating, this Audible Original offers an intensive, direct version of his teaching; if you find the approach exhausting or unconvincing, nothing here will change your mind. At eleven and a half hours, it is substantial – but it is essentially a sustained performance of conviction rather than a structured argument.

About the Audiobook

Available exclusively through Audible, The 10X Mentor positions itself as Cardone taking listeners “underwing” to teach the fundamentals of his success methodology. The content covers a range of topics – goal-setting, self-promotion, building income streams, handling setbacks, assessing teams, giving back – structured as a series of lessons rather than a conventional book. The format suits audio well: Cardone is a speaker rather than a writer by instinct, and the live-seminar feel that suffuses the production means the material translates more naturally than some of his print work.

The 10X philosophy is built on the premise that most people underestimate what is required to achieve their goals by a factor of ten, and that both their effort and their targets should be multiplied accordingly. This produces a set of behaviours – extreme ambition, relentless self-promotion, refusal to accept incremental thinking – that generates real results for some people and real anxiety for others. Cardone is not interested in the second group. The audiobook is for people who are prepared to accept his frame, work within it, and apply his lessons without modification.

The Narration

Cardone narrates his own work, which is appropriate – his delivery is part of the point. He speaks with the cadence of a man who has given thousands of keynote speeches, and the audiobook has the compressed energy of a very long pitch. For listeners already primed for his approach, the pace and intensity are engaging. For those less convinced, the effect can feel relentless. There are no long pauses for reflection, no gentle passages. This is motivational content at full volume, and it is consistent from beginning to end.

What Readers Say

With a 4.3 rating and a very limited review base, the response is limited but enthusiastic. The one substantial UK review comes from someone who described the programme as “far FAR the BEST MENTORING PROGRAM I’VE DONE”, crediting Cardone’s advice with helping them to accelerate a self-published book to publication within weeks. The testimonial is written in the specific register of Cardone’s own rhetorical style – all-caps, superlatives, action orientation – which is itself revealing about the kind of listener this content is designed to attract and retain.

Who Should Listen?

If you are already familiar with Cardone’s 10X Rule and have found it useful, this Audible-exclusive offers a direct, concentrated version of his mentorship without intermediary editing. It is most useful for entrepreneurs, salespeople, and anyone in a performance-oriented environment who has found that moderate ambition produces moderate results and is looking for a framework to recalibrate expectations upward. Listeners seeking nuanced analysis of success, or who are sceptical of maximalist self-help approaches, will find other titles more rewarding. This is unapologetically for the converted, or the nearly converted.
