Throne Of Glass: Audiobooks in Order

by Sarah J. Maas

Before the faerie courts, Sarah J. Maas built her name on an assassin. Throne Of Glass follows a lethal young heroine from champion’s contract to contested crown, and the volumes gathered here cover the saga’s ferocious middle act, from Queen of Shadows to Tower of Dawn, where court intrigue gives way to open war and the emotional stakes turn brutal.

Why listen to Throne Of Glass?

These are commitment listens, running between 20 and 25 hours apiece, and Elizabeth Evans holds the whole sprawling cast together with a performance that grows in authority just as the heroine does. Long fantasy asks for narrator stamina above all, and Evans has it.The listener verdict on this stretch is emphatic. Queen of Shadows and Empire of Storms both stand at 4.8 stars, among the strongest scores on this site, while the quieter, more divisive Tower of Dawn still holds a very respectable 4.6.A word of guidance: these are volumes four to six, so newcomers should track down the earlier books first. Returning fans, though, are heading into the best terrain of the series.

Clara’s verdict

Clara Whitmore

4.5/5

Maas wrote her way into my regular rotation with this middle stretch. Empire of Storms is my personal peak, and listeners broadly agree, holding it and Queen of Shadows at matching 4.8s across hundreds of ratings. Tower of Dawn asks for patience by stepping away from the main storyline, and its 4.6 reflects that honestly. Taken together, 68 hours of listening flew by faster than novels half their length. Elizabeth Evans deserves a good share of the credit.
